The Wisdom Of Kazoo Kid

Why I aim to be just like him

The Wisdom Of Kazoo Kid

Ever since I came across the slightly disturbing, yet entertaining "You On Kazoo!" program, I must admit that I admire "Kazoo Kid." Not only was he a rad little dude with a blonde mop cut, but he provided the viewers with an unbelievable message. We as humans, no matter what age, need to have "fun, fun, fun, fun, fun, fun, fun, fun!"

Although he was a bit repetitious with his message through that line, the kid made perfect sense to me. However, what really sold me on his message was the amount of passion he displayed through it. I mean dear God; the little man basically lost control over his body when he screamed it.

He was luckily able to continue his glorious lesson with ways that he likes to have fun. This is where I gained so much respect for the young whippersnapper. He was able to show us that he had a clear understanding on his topic of choice.

I believe the activities he addressed are essential for one to do if he or she wants to have fun. Here they are in order of delivery.

1. Singing

Boy, "Kazoo Kid" sure could sing. How could one forget his classic number, “Special Friend?” But that’s beyond the point. Singing is such a fun part of life. I’ve been singing for quite some time now and to be honest, there has not been one time where it was boring or lackluster. Even though my voice is not as beautiful as this young stallion’s, I still have enough confidence to sing in front of people. Singing in a social setting is what makes it even grander. A humdinger of a time. Next time you are bored or cannot make solid plans, go to a karaoke bar or open mic night. "Kazoo Kid" would sure be proud.

2. Dancing

Dudes and gals, I must say that I absolutely suck at dancing. Saying that I have two left feet would be a compliment. Seriously, please tell me that next time you see me. I have been laughed at numerous times for my attempts at it, yet I always have a stupendous time trying. To me, that’s all that matters. Ever since I have developed a "Kazoo Kid" type of mindset, I now realize that you do not have to be the best, but you always need to have fun. Everyone, we should dance together sometime. "Kazoo Kid" would sure be proud.

3. Pretending

Being a 20-year-old college student can be stressful sometimes. And by sometimes, I mean all the damn time. So when I start to feel like this, I like to pretend that my life is actually great and carefree. When I do this, all my problems seem to fade away. It truly is magical. I sometimes like to pretend that I am swimming with dolphins, while eating a mean bowl of spaghetti. In my vision, my food does not get wet. I know that is impossible, but that is the beauty of pretending! Nothing has to make sense. I recommend doing this when homework is piling on or when you miss your favorite television program. "Kazoo Kid" would sure be proud.

4. Kazoo-ing

What is fun if the kazoo is not involved? "Kazoo Kid" lived for that beautiful instrument. The best part about kazoos is that anyone can play them. They are far less challenging to master than instruments like the violin and bagpipes. They are always the life of the party when they are present and in my opinion, totally make you look so rad. There truly is no excuse for someone not to try playing it. Who knows, maybe you will become famous if you are truly talented at it. "Kazoo Kid" would sure be proud.

At the end of the day, it is clear that "Kazoo Kid" was chock full of wisdom. It is quite remarkable that such a young lad possessed that much life experience. Because of this, I forever promise to live my life full of fun, just like "Kazoo Kid."

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
