The Voice Of A Generation

The truth.

If you're just as tired as me of hearing that our generation is screwed up, I feel you and, oh, by the way you are in the right place. And for all of us who've heard that well, let's face it... um a gazillion times already? We're not. OK? So what is exactly happening here?

I would like to point out that contrary to popular belief we are paving our way to greatness, every day. And everyone who thinks that we're ''messed up" -- you are wrong.

Our lives are all over the place because we're busy doing things that matter. We aren't "talking back" to you, we are just asking questions. Answers, we are seeking answers to every rigid norm society has invented. We are too outrageous because we are busy fighting the tyranny of corruption and trying every day to bring it down. You think we're delusional but truth be told so many of us are working really hard to make it big, to reach higher because we've learnt that the sky is not in fact the limit. We aren't just a bunch of kids running wild on the street, but those who are fighting for love. Love of all kinds because we understand that love isn't something which comes with a guide, listing what's right or wrong. You call us too progressive for our own good because we are voicing ourselves over things that don't have valid reasoning and accepting the way everyone chooses to live?

No, we aren't disobedient or just breaking rules inconsiderately, all we're doing is debating the oppressive living condition that you've engulfed us with over the course of time. We aren't disrespectful to anyone, all we're doing is trying to live our life the way we want to.

You call us narcissistic and yet every day there are thousands and more of us across the world fighting for peace and love and equality and art and the earth. There is barely anything we don't care about. We are thriving for the silver lining. And the people who are trying to bring us down, sure as hell know that we're trying to break through their centuries of brain washing. They're telling us to quiet down but not anymore. We sure as hell are fighting, and we will keep fighting until we see the world as a better place without those who try to dominate over. We are a generation of philosophers, socialists, artists, scientists, activists.. heroes bringing about change, all trying to establish a better world and trust me, the way that we're going, I know in my heart that we will one day accomplish what we have started.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
