We have come to the end of yet another "Bachelor season." After 20 seasons spanning over 14 years, another young man has found ~the love of his life~. At least for now... There are few couples that actually have stayed together after the final rose. I really liked Ben Higgins, a 27-year-old software salesman from Denver, CO. He is the true all-American boy. A lover of baseball and 28 women, or at least two for sure. The 20th season of "The Bachelor" showed us raw emotion, honestly and of course DRAMA. Names such as Olivia, Leah, Lace and unfortunately a little bit surrounding Jubilee. Ben handled the drama in an honest and caring way. He listened to the many sides of each story and never raised his voice or placed blame on anyone. Ben never caused any drama, besides falling in love with two women at the same time...
For the first time in "Bachelor" history, "The Bachelor" told BOTH the bachelorettes he loved them. This created quite a pickle for the young bachelor. His own mother couldn't wrap her head around her son being in love with two women. We we on the edge of our seats about if he had chosen one until he was picking out a ring. I can't speak for everyone, but I was team Jojo once it got down to the top three. Jojo was the only one throughout the season to really listen to Ben and help him through tough times with other women! She didn't let her feelings get in the way of making Ben feel better. Remember when Ben announced that his close family friends had died and Olivia didn't care at all? Jojo cared, so did Jubilee.
The reason I didn't fall in love with Lauren like Ben did was because I don't think she's right for him. #boldstatement. Lauren is very quiet and reserved, not that that's bad. Ben is not quiet and reserved. He's the guy on the baseball team, he's the friendly neighbor from a small town where everyone knows each other. He's social, loud and confident. Jojo is loud, proud and southern! She was always tons of fun on group dates with a terrific attitude. I loved Jojo because she was selfless when she needed to be; she was fun and loved to live. Yes, her family was a little overwhelming and opinionated, but in the defense of Jojo, there weren't really any great hometown dates. Usually, the contestants confess their love as the Bachelor/Bachelorette gets into the black car. However, this season not a single bachelorette confessed their love in their hometowns.
I'm sure that Ben and Lauren will be very happy together, and I am very happy that he has found love and no longer considers himself unlovable. They are an adorable couple appearing on countless talk shows. I hope that everyone else on "The Bachelor" finds love as well.
