Amidst the hustle and bustle of college life, it is easy to forget about the simpler days of Abercrombie tees, sparkly Ugg boots, side bangs, feather hair extensions, and overdone Picnik photo edits (ha just kidding, we all voluntarily forgot about these cringeworthy trends). While middle school was a puberty-induced trainwreck for most people, you gotta admit it was fun. If you attended middle school from around 2008 to 2012, these songs will provide a little dose of nostalgia to get you through the week:

1. Low - Flo Rida (feat. T-Pain)

Admit it, after listening to this song 290482 times, you were begging your mom to buy you some apple-bottom jeans and boots with fur.

2. Crank That (Soulja Boy) - Soulja Boy

The song that made 13-year-old boys think they were way cooler than they actually were. Also what ever happened to Soulja Boy? Is he okay?

3. Boom Boom Pow - The Black Eyed Peas

"I like that boom boom pow, them chickens jackin' my style, they try to copy my swagger, I'm on that next shit now." Some true artistry in those lyrics.

4. Party in The U.S.A. - Miley Cyrus


Ah yes, the last hurrah before Miley went crazy. I can't lie, though, Party in the USA is still a banger to this day.

5. Tik-Tok - Ke$ha


Um okay looking back, who let middle schoolers listen to this stuff?! Raunchiness aside, you have to admit this song is a true middle school classic.

6. OMG - Usher (feat. will.i.am)


I blame this song for my excessive use of "omg" to this day. Oh-o-o-o-o-o-o oh my gawwwd.

7. Poker Face - Lady Gaga


Apparently this entire song is a sexual innuendo?! I was not aware of this until now. Childhood ruined.

8. Like A G6 - Far East Movement


What is a G6 anyway? This question has been plaguing my mind for 7 years, if you have any inside information please let me know.

9. Forever - Drake, Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Eminem


An iconic collab. We all had an Eminem phase in middle school, don't lie to me. Bonus points if you can rap the whole song.

10. Party Rock Anthem - LMFAO


I think the album cover itself speaks to the quality of this one. I also just had a flashback to the music video for this song and I am now mildly uncomfortable.

11. California Gurls - Katy Perry (feat. Snoop Dogg)

And at that moment, Gillian realized that cold New Jersey was not the place where she belonged.

12. 2012 (It Ain't The End) - Jay Sean

Haha, remember when everyone thought the world was going to end in 2012?! Good times. Glad there was a pop song to commemorate that fear.

13. Fire Burning - Sean Kingston

SOMEBODY CALL 9-1-1. The anthem of awkward middle school dances everywhere.
