I may not work for Spotify and it may not be job to create playlists for a living, but I enjoy doing it and will continue to do it anyways. With the Fourth of July approaching, barbecues and firework viewing parties are upon us. Be prepared for all of your patriotic festivities with some of these classic hits that are as American as baseball and apple pie.

1. "American Country Love Song" Jake Owen

This year's summer love anthem. Not only does it have "American" in the title, but this song just feels patriotic and summery so it needs to be on your playlist for the Fourth. It has a beat that will get everyone dancing and everyone reminiscing about their summer loves.

2. "American Pie" Don McLean

A true American classic. It's a song that everyone knows and puts everyone in a good mood. Your Fourth of July celebration would be "un-American" without it.

3. "Party in the U.S.A" Miley Cyrus

Nobody knows how to have a good time quite like Miley. Even though it may not be a true American classic, it's the perfect song to put on your soundtrack for Independence Day.

4. "Kids in America" Kim Wilde

Even though Kim Wilde may be British, this song still brings happiness to us Americans. When you need some tunes to uplift the party, this song will bring that American spirit to your party.

5. "Summer of '69" Bryan Adams

Another song that just seems to scream classic American summers. For all of the older folks at your celebration, this will get them singing and tapping along to the beat.

6. "Born in the U.S.A." Bruce Springsteen

It would be wrong to make a Fourth of July playlist without a little bit of Springsteen. A true American anthem, this is another song that will get everyone in a good mood while eating hot dogs and s'mores.

7. "Sweet Caroline" Neil Diamond

You're not American if you haven't screamed the lyrics to this song at some point in your life. It's a song that will live on forever and will be passed down through the generations. Everyone will get up and dance to this one.

8. "This Land is Your Land" Woody Guthrie

When you need some mellow folk music to slow things down as your festivities wind down, you can put on Woody Guthrie's classic that everyone knows the words to.

9. "American Kids" Kenny Chesney

Country music is America's music and there are so many options to chose from, but Kenny's hit describes growing up in this wonderful country that would be a great assest for your Fourth of July get together.

10. "God Bless the U.S.A." Lee Greenwood

Once again, a great American folk song. We should take some time to reflect on our freedom this weekend, and there is no better way to do it than listen to this song.

11. "Living in America" James Brown

For one last jam before your party ends, look no further than James Brown's hit from Rocky. It is sure to get everyone dancing before they head home.

12. "The Star Spangled Banner" Francis Scott Key

Now, we can't leave out America's song. Our beautiful national anthem provides us with so much pride in the country that we are proud to call home.

So hopefully you have a listen to all of these tunes this weekend. Have a wonderful and safe Fourth of July celebrating the land of the free and home of the brave.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
