The Twelve Days of Christmas

Every student has a list of things they want for Christmas. Some people even like to make a Christmas list ,but not me! I politely just write a "Twelve Days of Christmas List." My list basically consist of twelve items every college student should wish for!

On the first day of Christmas my parents gave to me...

A Keurig machine and a ton of k-cups! Every college student needs a Keurig machine to make them want to go to class to stay energized and get through the day.

On the second day of Christmas my parents gave to me...

A Swiffer sweeper! If you are a neat freak, you probably of need this to keep those tile floors clean, and do some tidying up before you leave for break.

On the third day of Christmas my parents gave to me....

An Eno! Yes an Eno, the super easy set-up hammock that folds up into a small travel case. This Spring Hill College favorite, would be a phenomenal Christmas gift so then I could hang out in the trees with my friends.

On the fourth day of Christmas my parents gave to me...

My goofy parents bought me a bunch of socks and underwear. Why would I want socks and underwear? Well if you are like me you would probably would take about 2 showers a day and change a bunch. So underwear and socks come in handy.

On the fifth day of Christmas my parents gave to me...

My phenomenal parents gave me a bicycle! We all need a quick ride to class and walking just does not work!

On the sixth day of Christmas my parents gave to me...

A SAMs Club membership! I love to buy food and drinks in bulk so it is nice having a SAMs Club membership in the family, and they also offer a discounted college student membership. It's great for cheap gas, and to stock up on snacks.

On the seventh day of Christmas my parents gave to me...

A pair of Uggs! Everyone loves those stylish boots and they make them for both men and women. How nice?

On the eighth day of Christmas my parents gave to me...

A plane ticket to Italy! A lot of my friends and fellow classmates will be traveling to Bologna, Italy for a semester abroad in January.

On the ninth day of Christmas my parents gave to me...

A Netflix subscription! Everyone needs Netflix to watch television when their college cable is really acting up, and its the perfect way to procrastinate homework.

On the tenth day of Christmas my parents gave to me...

My funny parents gave me cash! Some people need to pay off credit cards and others want to shop! Personally I really would like $500 to shop for new clothes. The New Year means new clothes!

On the eleventh day of Christmas my parents gave to me...

My genius parents gave me to me a crockpot! A crockpot is fun to use and easy to cook food in. It's better than the easy bake oven you got when you were three!

On the twelfth day of Christmas my parents game me...

My fantastic parents gave to me a trip to the spa! After finals everyone needs to relax! I would prefer this gift before Christmas actually, how about the day after finals?

I hope you guys enjoy the Christmas list and you may even find something to ask you parents for! Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
