And just like that our summer is halfway over. You start to regret everything you haven't done, with the threat of school creeping back into your mind. At this point of the summer, you start to hate your summer job, start imaging how next summer will go, and how you didn't save any of the money you made. All of that means your even closer to graduating college and getting an adult job. All these thoughts race through your mind as you start your game plan to finish out the rest of the summer with a bang.

Being an underclassman is not easy, especially in the summer time. No one wants to hire you for an internship because all you have taken are general education classes, none of which pertain to your major, so the chances of any cool job applicable to your interest is slim. Get comfortable with being a nanny or a lifeguard for the summer, cause that's the best option during this time in your life.

Being an upperclassman cannot be much easier either. You are beginning the hardest chapter yet of being an adult, consisting of forty hour work weeks and business parties. No more of the crazy summer nights with no regrets, no hangovers, and no worries. The pressure to find the business you want to start at begins, and the large search for your first career job begins. You have less than two years before you graduate. You're focusing on your classes to get the degree while looking for a job that will suit your interests and career goals. All the while, you're worrying about when those phone calls from loan companies will start coming as your student loans and interest rate begin to rise instantly. This is when we need to find a way to budget our money in order to pay our loans, have some time to have fun, and of course, survive.

This is something we all essentially have to do in order to try to pursue the goals that we have for our lives. Sure we all would like to just live a life full of adventure with no worries but life unfortunately isn't like the movies that we see. That is what makes us human; is the pursuit of happiness we seek. But overcoming the obstacles like finding a job, paying the bills, and finding our comfort zone is what makes us human. Being able to take care of these things sooner rather than later will make life more enjoyable because we will have much more time to enjoy it. No matter what someone may teach you, there is no way to prepare for the stages of life that we all endure. For some, these stages are easier than it may be for others, but that's what makes us human. As nervous as I am for this upcoming year, I'm twice as excited for what the unpredictability this year holds for myself and if this is truly my last "summer" than I am happy to say it was a good one. This summer for me has truly flied by, but then again, hasn't our whole lives flown by as well? As we all know in life; time flies when you're having fun.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
