There comes a time in every teenage girl's life when she must ask herself the ultimate question: "What show should I start watching on Netflix?" Whether you've just finished the last episode of your favorite show and are looking for an equally-thrilling rebound series, or are a first-time Netflix user and need some suggestions, the list below outlines the shows that I have found to be worth devoting your time to. Perfect for rainy days spent in bed, or the late hours of the night when you need something to help you procrastinate, these shows are dramatic, exciting and worth every minute of the hours you will spend with your eyes glued to the screen in front of you.
1. "Grey's Anatomy"
I of course have to start off with my favorite show of all time. From Derek and Meredith's epic romance to Meredith and Christina's epic friendship and every epic character in between, this show offers something for everyone to get attached to. You will go from throwing your remote at the screen to curled up in a ball crying to laughing until your face hurts all in the course of one episode. Just be careful not to get too attached because the characters in this series have a tendency to die and/or leave.
2. "One Tree Hill"
One of the longest series on this list, "One Tree Hill" is one of those shows that you get so invested in at first that it kind of takes over your life. Over the course of the many seasons, all of the characters you come to love grow and change in the best ways possible. If you can make it through the mid-series slump around season four, you will seriously enjoy the end, trust me.
3. "Hart of Dixie"
Not many people have heard of this series about a little southern town called Bluebell. The main character, Zoe, may not always set the best examples, but her out of control love life and tendency to make bad decisions is something every teenage girl can relate to. Just be careful which one of her love-sagas you root for, she switches it up a lot and tends to be very unpredictable.
4. Revenge
Possibly one of the most dramatic series on Netflix, this show is definitely not for the faint of heart. Emily Thorne is probably the most bada** main character in any of the series' on this list. Her unwavering toughness and gut-wrenching quest for revenge will have you on the edge of your seat for every plot-twist and turn throughout the entire series.
5. "The Carrie Diaries"
Nearly as good as the famous "Sex And The City" show that it is a prelude to, this show is unfortunately cut short and will leave you wanting much much more. That being said, don't let the abrupt end stop you from watching. The few seasons this show has are good enough to make up for the fact that it isn't very long. Any one who is a fan of "Sex And The City" should give this show a chance, Carrie is both cute and awkward enough to make every girl fall in love from episode one.
6. "Gossip Girl"
This list wouldn't be complete without the infamous show that every teenage girl has seen or heard of at some point in her life. Arguably the best series on Netflix if you're looking for drama and teenage-romance. The infamous Blair and Chuck love story, and Serena van der Woodsen's notorious good looks are only a small portion of what you will encounter once you've handed your life over to this show. Just make sure you have enough free time on your hands, because once you start you won't be able to stop until it's over. You'll be questioning who's really gossip girl every time she lands another blow to the perfect lives of Manhattan's elite. I could of course make it easy and just tell you who it is, but I'd rather make you see for yourself. Good luck, xoxo, Gossip Girl.
