" Star Wars: Rogue One" comes out in a little over a month. It will be the first stand-alone "Star Wars" film, which is very exciting. Many may be confused on what "Rogue One" will be about, but it is very simple to explain. "Rogue One" will take place between Episodes Three and Four. It is about a group of rebels who have the task of stealing the Death Star plans from the Empire. Many new characters are in the film as well as some original characters. This film is not part of the main sequence films and is considered to have a darker feel like a war movie. Below are the top five reasons to be hyped for "Star Wars: Rogue One."
5. The First Stand-Alone Film
All the "Star Wars" movies so far have been part of the main story. "Rogue One" will break that sequence of events. "Rogue One" does take place within the main story but tells the story of the rebels who fight against the Empire. This stand-alone film will have the feel and mood of a war movie. It is meant to be a grittier or darker "Star Wars" film. This movie being by itself makes it very unique in the universe. It is bringing in these background characters that have been neglected due to the Skywalkers' tragic story. This film will provide many new aspects to the "Star Wars" franchise.
4. New Characters
Like I had mentioned earlier, "Rogue One" will feature almost all new characters while bringing back a few old ones as well. This is a great thing to be excited for because it will provide us aspects that we are not expecting like we would with characters who we already know and love. New characters also allow for fans to explore their interests with those characters such as cosplaying as them or even just being a fan of them. New characters also open up many other pathways to the "Star Wars" universe. Books, movies, and shows can be explored even more once these characters are detailed within this movie.
3. Stormtrooper Variants
In the original "Star Wars" films, we did not see many types of stormtroopers. We saw the standard stormtrooper as well as the scout trooper in Episode Six. Those were the two variants we saw in the original films. If you have seen any of the "Rogue One" trailers, you can see three new types of stormtroopers. All three new types look amazing. The death troopers, the shore trooper, and the tank troopers all look unique and serve their own purpose. These new variant types provide "Star Wars" with so much more variety and a richer universe. Hopefully later on in other "Star Wars" movies, we can see these variants again.
2. Darth Vader
Darth Vader is a great reason to be hyped for this movie. He is finally coming back to the big screen. Vader's role in "Rogue" is said to be not large but crucial to the entire film. I have also read articles that Vader will show his ruthlessness on the big screen in "Rogue One." "Rogue One" is going to be a war movie so Vader is going to be ruthless. I personally am not a big fan of Darth Vader due to the fact that he does not do much in the movies. It really disappoints me. His new comic book series is really good because he is ruthless and does things himself. He takes dirty work in his own hands. I really recommend it if you have not read them. I hope that, in the movie, he does some really cool things.
1. It's "Star Wars!"
The last reason is because it's "Star Wars!" "Star Wars" is such an amazing thing. I don't know how people go about their lives without thinking about it. It is such an amazing concept and universe. When people tell me they have not seen "Star Wars," I freak out because it is such a crazy thing for me. "Star Wars" is a big part of my life, and it has done many things for me and my life. I hope you enjoy "Star Wars" as well as the reasons for being hyped for the new movie.
