Have you ever stopped to think what is your favorite movie? I mean of course you probably, have but have you ever actually asked yourself, "What have I learned from this?" It's safe to say that maybe sometimes we all like to watch movies because we like the thrill, suspense, or romance. Sometimes these movies can teach us a lesson on life, and not just life in general, but lessons that could incorporate into our lives and help us or give us a different perspective on things. One of my personal favorite movies I've seen is "The Theory of Everything". This is a movie about the physicist Stephen Hawking. This movie displays his life, and how he overcame everything that was thrown in his path, but most importantly, how he never gave up.

Lesson one: look at things from different perspectives.

What this means is that sometimes were going to have unexpected things thrown in our paths, and we at that current moment may not know how to proceed. Looking from things at a different perspective will teach us things we could not see before. It helps us to see that the grass is always greener on the other side.

Lesson two: have an open mind.

Before Hawking's incident, mathematics was not available at Oxford University, so he went on to pursue, The University of Cambridge. He later went on to pursue developing mathematical proof for black holes, as well as proving Einstein's theory of general relativity. Through math and science, Stephen redefined the Big Bang theory.

This shows that we often find ourselves at a dead end or at a cross-road, and in-order for us to solve these personal scenarios we must have an open mind. Having an open mind will show the different possibilities and outcomes that will play out if have a little faith, and take a chance.

Lesson three: love what you do.

Hawking had a passion for what he wanted to pursue and he went after it. It takes quite a lot for someone to gain a PhD, let alone a PhD in mathematical physics. After everything Hawking accomplished, he managed to never forget that he loved what he was doing. He wanted to make a breakthrough. Additionally, this shows no matter what we want to do in life, we must love what we do because it'll make things much easier to enjoy.

Lesson four: the universe has no boundaries.

Now, Hawking discovered his theory for mathematics and black holes, but he also discovered that the universe has no boundaries. How cliché that may sound, it means that there is no limit on to what people can do on earth. This is more so like a push factor for people in society to get out there and succeed in life. With the universe having boundaries, this comes to show us that we can do anything if put our mind to it.

Lesson five: never give up.

Throughout all his struggles Hawking never managed to give up. I guess you could say when his incident occurred, it would stop him from accomplishing what he set out to do, but it didn't. Having your entire body paralyzed, and only being able to talk through intel, he managed to prove everyone wrong. He will definitely remembered for generations of physics and teaching to come. Additionally, this demonstrates that we must never give up on something we set out to do. Sometimes we may often find ways to quit or take time, but that doesn't give us the satisfaction we would have wanted if we found a way to persevere through our challenges. No matter what you love, or do, always remember to never give up when things are difficult, because "While there's life, there's hope".

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
