News flash people. Life sucks. Actually, it's supposed to suck. We were given the gift of life in order to change life's destiny not only for ourselves but for others too. A life is measured by how one uses theirs in order to make other lives better. A perfect example is a soldier. Soldiers put their lives at risk in order to protect the lives of others from the enemy. (For that, we thank you.)
That's just one way a person's life is used to make another life better. I guarantee that you can think of another person's life that was used to make other people's lives better. It could be anybody. These people share four common traits that could easily make lives better.
T - Trust
Trust is a very simple idea, but a lot of us find it hard to give. The definition is basic. Trust is putting faith into practically anything or anyone. In order to make life better, you have to have people you can trust. These people will support you no matter what, and in return, you will do the same for you. This special sense of security for both you and the people you trust is what makes life better.
Like I said, life sucks, and you need people you trust in order to help you endure whatever life has to offer. Trust does just not extend to others. It also applies to you too! You have to trust yourself in your ability to confront life's challenges, and we all know what they look like. Trust yourself. Trust your friends. Trust your family. Most importantly, let them trust you. Life gets better when you have trust in your group.
E - Empathy
Empathy is being able to share the feelings of another person. Like trust, empathy can be really hard to show simply because life is difficult. There are situations where you have to be assertive and aggressive in order to ensure your own personal success. The people who display empathy while ensuring personal success are the people everyone looks up to.
However, if everyone showed a lot more empathy in their lives, I guarantee life for others will be so much better. Take relationships for example. We can all agree that nobody likes to be cheated on especially in a close relationship with a significant other, yet for reasons unknown, people still do it. Understanding another person's concerns and opinions and respectfully addressing them are the first steps towards peace. It's not easy, but not impossible.
C - Commitment
Another strong word. Commitment. We all know what this means. Commitment is being dedicated to not only your goals and interests but to others as well. We all need the motivation and drive in order to make lives better because of one reason. If we're successful, we can help others be successful. Better yet, good people do both simultaneously. They continue to accomplish their goals while helping others do the same. A great way to make another life better is by giving them an opportunity.
However, in order to do so, you have to achieve your own success by accomplishing personal goals. Now, trying to accomplish your personal goals has the potential to be selfish. Even so, the people who want to help others will find ways around that. However, you have to be able to take care of yourself before you can better the lives of others. Once you do, the sky's the limit.
H - Honesty
Plots in movies, books, tv shows, etc. typically have some form of dramatic irony. In most cases, dramatic irony is shown through a lie, and lies don't end well. Honesty is the biggest things we lack because we fear the consequences of the truth. Nevertheless, the consequences of the truth will always be better than the consequences of a lie. A clear counterargument against that is the protection of others. People lie to keep others safe, and it is one of the greatest challenges to protect others in spite of the truth.
To this day, I can't think of a solution, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't be honest. Honesty, sincerity, and integrity could mean the difference between success and failure. Being honest with others especially the people you trust makes them feel special and happy. After all, isn't happiness what we strive for?
Life isn't supposed to be pleasant, and nothing is given to us unless we earn it. Despite that, here are people with the TECH that help us make life better. Today, we honor those people. We sometimes call them legends who have used their lives to better the lives of others. They're committed to becoming successful in their own right and share that success in a kind way through honesty, trust, and empathy.
Yet. One thing can change all that.
An exception.
