If you're anything like me, no matter how hard you try, no matter how good your hair and makeup look in the mirror or in your phone screen, you look like a gremlin in every picture. The camera just doesn't love everyone, and it is truly a struggle. I think there are a few things that everyone who isn't photogenic can understand.
1. You hate taking pictures.
The put-hands-in-front-of-face is a signature pose.
2. You have to take a minimum of 100 selfies before you find a decent one.
And you also need amazing lighting to help hide all of your flaws
3. You cringe every time you look at a photo someone takes of you.
"Do you like this one?" "Yeah................." NO. NO. NO.
4. Your face is always the weirdest in a group photo.
At least you make your friends look better; they should be thankful.
5. Making an ugly face is your go-to in pictures, because at least then you look bad on purpose.
No one has proof that you don't photograph well this way. It's for the best sometimes.
6. There is always an editing app present on your phone.
Facetune is always there for you in those times of need.
7. You always un-tag pictures of yourself on social media.
It might look like you have no friends, but at least the only pictures of you on your profile are ones you've uploaded and approved.
8. You feel like the only time you've ever looked good is in a professional photo.
Clearly I'm going to need my life to be one big photo shoot if I ever want a good picture.
9. When you actually do take a good picture, you can't stop looking at it.
It's a true, rare gem that you just have to admire.
10. You'd rather take photos of other people.
Your phone is filled with pictures... of other people, and maybe some cute puppies and smoothie bowls.
11. Always trying to escape the photographer at a sweet 16 or wedding.
Dodging that camera is truly a workout.
12. You wish your friends took cute candid pictures of you but...
THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS CUTE CANDIDS OF YOU.
