Twenty-four hours into the lease of my new apartment, I find myself with pages of notebooks filled with shopping lists and to-do lists, as well as frequently sent "OMG this is so stressful" texts to my friends. If you're in the same boat, I'm sure you feel me on this.
1. Agreeing on decor placement.
"Does this look good here?" "I don't know, what do you think?" "Well I don't know, what do you think?" What's it like to make an actual decision? I'm not sure.
2. Picking a color scheme.
I really like blue and green, but, like, purple and brown are also really pretty. Soooo...
3. Selecting your favorite ideas from Pinterest.
There are just. So. Many. Ideas.
4. Grocery shopping.
This is just one part of being an adult that I will never enjoy.
5. Realizing you need to get the basics.
Wait, so you're telling me this apartment doesn't come with toilet paper, paper towels, and cleaning supplies?
6. Cleaning.
Did the old tenants pick up a broom and dustpan, ever?
7. More cleaning.
But really, what died in this fridge?
8. Physically moving furniture.
Guess who's skipping arm day at the gym today. And leg day tomorrow. And the gym entirely for the next four days.
9. Is that a spider in the shower?
Get it. Get. It. Now. Dad?
10. Counting down the moments until the rest of your friends finally move into town.
Because honestly, this is going to be the best year ever.
