First of all, I'd like to explain myself. I didn't plan to hate driving. You see, I'm really not sure how it even happened. One minute I was 15, behind the wheel while my mom sat in the passenger seat telling me how to drive, and the next minute I was 21 switching lanes on the highway during my frantic rush to work. And as much as my mom tried to instill in me the importance of being a well-mannered driver, I guess it never really stuck. And while I'm not a horrible driver, I'm just not very good at going the speed limit or keeping my cool around incredibly awful drivers.
I often find myself guilty of questioning what other drivers are doing and wondering how some people have their license (if they even do). I mean come on, there is absolutely no reason to be going 10mph under the speed limit?! So naturally, I get a bit testy. Of course I also have no patience for the drivers that think I'm going too slow, only for them to pass me and end up at the same red-light as me. Ha! And can we talk about people who know how to work a smartphone but not a turn-signal? It's called a blinker people!
Just thinking about the incredibly dumb things people do while driving makes my blood boil. But, I am definitely not here to point fingers. I too can be a pretty atrocious driver. I have a tendency to do foolish things, such as: turning the radio down when I'm lost so I can focus on where I'm going or realizing I may have done something a bit illegal and simply shrugged my shoulders because I didn't get caught. I'm also the absolute worst at parallel parking, so I just don't do it. Ever.
You see, we are all guilty of wrong-doings behind the wheel of a car. Whether you have pet-peeves about the way others drive or you're aware of your lack-of awareness on the road, driving just sucks. I mean, why can't we all just be Blair Waldorf and order car service?
