Summer is supposed to be the best time of the year for everyone. Classes are done, friends are home, nights turn into mornings and the temperature is hot. Summer also means that you have to take some responsibility and get a job to make it even better. Without a job that gives you a paycheck every week or so, you wouldn't be able to buy things to help make the summer better. In the short amount of time of being home, many struggles come across that make the summer feel twice as long as it really is.
1. Having to work on hot days.
Working on hot days in the summer makes the days seem longer. While working and looking outside in the heat makes you want to sit by the pool or beach and have a nice cold refreshing drink.
2. Dealing with coworkers who aren't the nicest.
The summer brings out the worst in some people because they hate the heat or that they are angry that they should be home instead of work.
3. You have to wake up early and come home late.
The only thing that gets most people out of bed in the summer is not the sounds of the alarms, but the sound of the bank account getting money in it after a long hard week.
4. You get tired half way through the day.
By the time 12 or 1 o'clock comes around is when the day starts to drag more and more because that means that it is closer to the shift ending.
5. Not being able to stay out late at night.
After a long day at work, all you want to do is shower, eat dinner and get ready for bed so you can rest.
6. Missing out on fun times with friends.
During the summer most of your friends are hanging out while you're inside at work and then after work you see all of the snapchats or pictures being posted. While they are hanging out, just remember that you are making money.
7. Missing out on the latest Netflix or TV hit.
By the time you get home from work and actually put on the TV, you end up falling asleep to whatever is on before the opening credits even appear.
8. Go right from work to school.
Once you end your summer job, you start classes again at school and then you realize how much everything sucks, but prays that the money was all worth it.
So if you have a job this summer, try not to let these struggles you come across affect you and your work ethic. Keep working towards you main goal which is getting paid so you can pay for things while at school.
