Being a procrastinator can be rough, whether in high school, college, or just life. Assignments and responsibilities start to add up and they always seem like too much -- of course the best solution is to push them off and stress about them at the last possible minute. The more assignments are ignored, the more add up to be stressed over later. Personally, I've had senioritis since my freshman year of high school.
Okay, maybe it's not the best option.
When finals roll around, the pressures of school reveal themselves like a gift: a week of two hour long tests covering every single thing learned in every single class taken that semester. A nice bonus gift is the five page papers assigned by three professors all due the same week. Lucky us.
It all starts with receiving a rubric, an essay, or a study guide for a test. The first thing to do with it is avoid looking at the black ink covering its papers and shove it into a backpack until the night it's due. Then, it's a necessity to think about the numerous assignments and tests you have coming up, but not do thing about them. This should occur one to ten times before the due date of the assignment. In fact, don't do a single thing to prepare for any classes. Just take a lot of naps and baths in the name of self-love instead. You've done a lot; you deserve it. Unfortunately, time stops for no one; the due date is going to roll around. At this point, there are only a few options left: finish the assignment the night before it's due, finish it the hour before it's due, or avoid doing the assignment all together and hope that you still somehow pass your class.
Procrastinating is a terrible habit to break. Not doing homework is a whole lot easier than setting aside hours of your time to sit at a desk and get it over with. It's much less work to take a nap than it is to write a ten page paper. The worst part about being a procrastinator is that you are causing yourself the majority of your stress. If you were to just get it over with, the pressure of getting it done on time would be gone -- and you'd probably receive a better grade for having time to look over it a few times.
Hey, I'm not judging. I should take my own advice. In fact, I have a rough draft due in a few days. I'll do it in a few days.
Good luck!
