Sarcasm is an art. It is a language of its own. People oftentimes look down on sarcasm disapprovingly, and sometimes that action is called for. Sarcasm is for the quick witted, which is coupled with endless amounts of sass that is bottled up inside a person. When people are communicating to each other, others that are observing the conversation are taking subconscious notes on your contribution to that conversation.
They will analyze your tone of voice, your body language, and your reaction to what is being said to you. But when you finally come to terms with the fact that you are painfully sarcastic you'll understand that you can give conversations two different meanings. However, you will face some side effects.
You will get away with it.
Meeting new people is probably one of the best feelings out there — you are expanding your social circle, right? Conversation with a new person might be effortless and comfortable, and when that happens your guard goes down: you start to think that this person (who is basically still a stranger) can pick up on your sarcastic comments. But 97.4 percent of the time, they won't — and then you are caught in the situation of leading a double-edged conversation that is one-sided. It's awkward.
On the other hand if they do pick up your sarcasm and aren't offended, than they are meant to be in your life and you should never let them go.
Sarcasm has a mind of it's own.
Occasionally, sarcasm can't be avoided. You could be having a day where everything is working out the way it's supposed too, and you think that maybe your luck has changed. For example, lets say that it's a little cold outside but you aren't letting that small factor contribute to your unbelievably amazing day. You are standing in line for coffee and a random stranger notices you are borderline shivering and they ask you if you're cold. Without hesitation the remark, "No, I'm a so warm actually. Can you help me take off my coat?" slips out. Now both of you are wide-eyed and stunned. Thank you sarcasm.
Your friends will never believe you.
Whether it is a question that's related to their hair, an outfit, or an English assignment, they are always going to ask another person; they have been a victim of too many sarcastic comments that their trust is basically non-existent. They know you well enough that they do find truth in what you say, but they will never be completely sure. Thank god they will love you anyways.
Sarcasm, believe it or not, is oftentimes considered not a good quality to have. Even though these examples capture the struggle of being a sarcastic person, there are circumstances where it is in fact the best quality to have. Sarcasm will never allow a dull moment to happen and there will always be laughter. If you are sarcastic you have an ability to make people laugh. I think that is one of the greatest abilities to have as a person. So keep on keeping on, you sarcastic person. You are making the world a more exciting and speechless place.
