It’s that point in the semester where there is only one word to describe how you feel right now- exhausted. You’re overloaded with homework, papers, tests, events, and soon to be finals. As I’m sitting here writing this article, I have so many things on my to-do list. I have to study, go to meetings, volunteer and go to sorority events. All of these things can be so overwhelming because there are so many responsibilities on college students. I am currently the most stressed I have ever been in my life; I barely get any sleep, finals are coming up, and I might possibly get a B in a class (I’ve never made a B before in my entire life). Sometimes I feel like giving up. It’s difficult to cope sometimes with keeping up with everything.
Although this point in school is obviously very tough, you have to keep in mind that your health comes first. You cannot get yourself so stressed out that you crack. All that matters is that you try your best and do not stress out over little things that won’t matter in 10 years. For example, even though you might not make the grade you want on your test, it is okay. A decade from now, you are not going to remember every grade you made on every single test. I am finally coming to terms my possible B average in my class, but it is okay because I know that the Lord is on my side. I have tried my best, and I am proud of how far I have come. Next time you find yourself stressing about grades, be proud of yourself for how much you have accomplished so far.
So, the next time you are losing your mind over all the things going on in your crazy life, remember that it will be okay. Take time to relax and laugh, and don’t take things too seriously. There are only a few more weeks left of this school year, you can do it!
“Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint” (Isaiah 40:30,31).
