If we do one thing right down here in the South, it’s how we celebrate freedom during this patriotic holiday. Families everywhere get together to celebrate the land of the free and home of the brave. If you’re from The South, here are some things that go hand-in-hand with celebrating on July 4th.
1. Fireworks
According to the American Pyrotechnics Association, the expected total for consumer sales of fireworks for this year is expected to be around $675 million? (That’s enough money to get pretty much my entire college through school without anyone having to take out loans.)
2. Swimming
Swimming in the pool, going to the river, kayaking, canoeing, sprinklers, etc. Southerners will use almost anything to beat the heat, especially when it’s the 4th of July.
3. Baseball
Baseball is America’s pastime, right? And I guess apple pie goes right along with this as well.
4. Red. White. Blue.
5. Sweet Tea
