Summer is always a fun time for college students. You get a nice break from the work load of school, you get to reestablish your life at home, and then you mentally prepare yourself for another year. As the end of July approaches, this is my reflection of the summer so far.

1. Thank GOD finals are finally over.

What is even the point of finals like can you nottttt.

2. It's only May! So much time ahead of us.

Yessss, long college summers.

3. I guess I should probably get a summer job.

If I have to...

4. I hope I don't get fat from all the food I'm going to eat in the next four months.

It's really hard living walking distance from both McDonalds and Dunkin Donuts.

5. Gotta make sure I keep my dance moves poppin' for the fall.

You can never go wrong with the sprinkler.

6. Because THAT'S MY JAM.

YOU KNOW IT.

7. Oh, wow, all I do is work.

At least I'm making money.

8. And when I don't work I just want to sleep.

Again, some money is better than no money. Calm your hormones girl, you want that new dress donchu?

9. OH, HEY THERE SQUAD, I MISSED YOU.

Love squad summer visits.

10. How is it already July?

That's just unacceptable; summer just started!

11. Thinking about going back to school.

So. Excited.

12. Thinking about homework and tests and essays and projects.

So. NOT. Excited.

13. My tuition is going to cost how much now?

Knowing your school is putting your money toward building up the new business program like OK.

14. WAIT I'M GETTING A VISION.

I CAN SEE INTO THE FUTURE.

15. Looks like I'm going to win the lottery and I won't have to pay for school. Or work in the summer time. Or work at all. Ever.

That's one ambitious vision. Didn't know I had it in me.

16. Let's hope I don't interfere with this or it won't come true.

Let's face it; the good visions always get messed up somehow.

17. Starting to get a little nervous about change.

Focus on your breathing, not on your thoughts.

18. I'll just try to enjoy the last month of summer as much as I possibly can.

Be free, my darling and enjoy your life. You're only a junior once <3

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Whether you met your new love interest online, through mutual friends, or another way entirely, you'll definitely want to know what you're getting into. Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
