Although you're supposed to practice 2 hours a day, it's easy to ignore that fact and only practice when you have something coming up. Here's how it usually goes:
1) Realizing You Need To Practice
Maybe you have an upcoming lesson, jury, or recital or maybe you're a good music major and practice two hours a day. Regardless, the time has come to lock yourself in the practice room.
2) Procrastination
You know... Maybe you don't need to practice. There's so much for you to do... Like scrolling through Tumblr for hours, doing all your laundry, literally anything other than practicing.
3) Finally Going To The Practice Rooms
Accepting that your really do have to practice, you begin the walk of shame across campus to the practice room.
4) More Procrastination
You know, you made it this far, why not check what's happened on twitter in the last 5 minutes before going up.
5) Warming Up
After working your way into a practice room, you finally begin to actually accomplish something productive! Way to go!
6) Even More Procrastination
Warming up is hard work, so obviously it's time to take another brain break!
7) Actually Practicing Your Music
Finally! The reason that you did all this work! Time to actually practice!
8) Getting Stuck On A Hard Part
It was bound to happen eventually, you finally got stuck. Time to play that portion until you have it stuck in your for the rest of the semester.
9) Feeling Like A Failure
You just, can't get it right. Why are you even a music major? Why bother? Oh right, because there's nothing else for you to do with your life...
10) Accepting Defeat And Go Home
You did a lot of hard work today, way to go champ! Go binge watch Netflix!
