11 Stages Of Buying Your Textbooks, As Told By Joey Tribbiani

The start of the fall semester is quickly approaching for college students across the world, and with going back to college comes numerous expenses, such as tuition, rent, and purchasing college textbooks. I'll be completely honest and say that I'm the type of girl that tries to wait until a week or two into the semester to see if I really need to purchase a textbook for the class because the cost of textbooks is just absolutely crazy.

You could pay up to $200 for a textbook that you'll only open one time over the course of the entire semester. Buying textbooks can be stressful, take a lot of energy, and really make you question why you're taking the classes you are. Who better than Joey Tribbiani from "Friends" to tell the stages of buying textbooks?

1. Registering for fall classes has you so excited to see what the new semester has in store.

2. When summer is about to end, so you log into your university's student page and you see that all your professors added up the textbook list you'll need for their classes.

3. Three books for one class? What?!

4. $100 for a book? Do you think it's really necessary to pass the class?

5. Chegg and Amazon become your two best friends because no one buys textbooks at the bookstore.

6. But then Chegg and Amazon don't have the book you're looking for...

7. Do you think I'm really going to need these books? Asking for a friend...

8. My total is $350?! That's like a whole two weeks of work...for books!

9. You get your package of books in the mail, but then you open it and you're reminded of the hell that is college-learning that is about to start again.

10. But then you remember that all costs aside, going back to school means seeing your BFFs again, so it all makes it worth it in the end.

11. Until you realize that you never needed to buy that $150 textbook, so half the money you spent was a waste.

All college students know, buying textbooks sucks. So much money is spent on something you could only open or use a handful of times in the semester. Then by the time December rolls around, you have to send back all of the books you got and start the process all over again for the next semester.

But, thank god for websites like Amazon and Chegg for making the process a little bit easier (and cheaper) for us broke college kids. Get to cracking open those books, friends, school will be here before we know it.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
