We all know the feeling of being single on Valentine's day and seeing tons of other couples out and having fun. We go about Valentine's day like it's only about couples and dating when really we could also make it about friend and self-love. Here're five things you should do if you're single on Valentine's day.

1. Go out with friends

I'm sure you probably have single friends out there as well, go out with them. Go get dinner, go see a movie, or go shopping. Just because it's Valentine's day doesn't mean you can't go out with your friends because I'm sure you probably all love each other as well.

2. Movie Night with yourself/friends

This one is probably one of my favorites, why not watch some movies by yourself or with your friends. You can order takeout and sit at home, eat, stay in your pjs, and watch movies. I mean that sounds pretty good to me.

3. Drink a bottle of wine

This one goes to the wine lovers out there, although I guess you could drink a bottle of whatever you want(not recommended). But, you want to just relax and have a drink, you have your drink or 5.

4. Babysit for another couple

This one is probably not the most exciting, but it would be very loving for you to do. If you know another couple who needs to get out of the house and away from the kids, take one for the team and babysit the rugrats for a little while, I'm sure they will appreciate it.

5. Binge watch Netflix

Well, you might be doing this now, but are you doing it the right way? You could totally binge watch netflix, eat some ice cream, drink some wine, and eat some takeout and I'd have to say you'd be winning.

So, instead of being all upset about being single for the lovey dovey holiday, take it upon yourself to make it a great day. After all, self love is the most important.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
