The Secret To Longer, Stronger, Silkier Hair

I can never decide what I want with my hair. When it’s long I want it short, and when it's short I want it long. Back in November, I cut my hair to shoulder length and it was great, but now I’m ready for long hair again. I like long hair for summer because I can easily throw it up into a bun to get it off my neck, with short hair that's not exactly possible. My hair grows quickly but still not fast enough, that’s why I enlisted the help of castor oil.

To help my hair grow and stay healthy this summer I purchased a bottle of castor oil from Amazon. Castor oil is great for hair growth— it helps hair grow longer, stronger and faster. It even works in balding spots. I started using this hair mask to help my hair grow a bit faster to have longer hair for the summer and to keep my hair and scalp moisturized.

Hair Mask:

Add to small bowl -

3 tbsp castor oil

1 tbsp coconut oil

1 tbsp honey

Warm 30 secs in microwave, stir (if not completely melted add another 30 secs)

Add 1 egg yolk and mix

Apply:

Wear an old t-shirt in case of drips

Apply mixture to damp hair, dividing hair into sections and applying at roots every 1 inch

Once roots are saturated, apply mixture to the ends of hair

Comb hair with wide-tooth comb

Wrap hair in shower cap

Wrap shower cap in hot, damp towel

Wait 45 minutes (the longer you leave it the more effective it will be)

Rinse hair

Use twice a week for 2 months, then once a week.

(I have naturally oily hair so to make sure my hair isn’t oily after this hair mask I rinse as much as the mixture out as possible then shampoo really good, condition the ends of my hair only and then shampoo again at the end.)

Thick like honey, castor oil contains fatty acids that accelerate blood circulation to the scalp, hence increasing hair growth. It also nourishes the scalp and strengthens the roots with the help of essential nutrients.

Honey attracts moisture and is full of antioxidants and nutrients to feed hair follicles, encouraging hair growth. Eggs contain protein that prevents breakage and fights dandruff. And well coconut oil is just a magical oil that can be used anywhere and anytime. If you don’t have a jar of raw, organic coconut oil you need to get some.

This hair mask will leave your hair feeling softer, silkier, and more manageable.

It will also add more volume and make it shinier along with helping grow hair. Castor oil is also great for eyelashes and eyebrows. Fill an empty mascara tube with castor oil and apply to eyelashes and eyebrows before bed.

The oils will absorb overnight and if used every night, in 2 weeks you will have longer, thicker eyelashes and brows!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
