The Right To Success

We expect success because we have never reassessed the failure process.

Why do we expect success from everything we try?

In a world that is so do or die

why are we always on the fly

to make another buy

that won’t make a difference in our own personal lives.

In our world that we idealize

we enroll in colleges to certify

our sense of knowledge such to dignify

personal success.

How do we justify

Ourselves when it comes to our place

in a world that puts a disgrace

to anything without a trace

of success.

Our country compares itself to others and then with an address

tells us that we are below average.

Education is slacking

because our teachers are lacking

proper education because our colleges are asking

for thousands of dollars which students are subtracting

from their income.

It puts us in debt.

We cannot afford our education loans while trying to give

an education to those

who are young

and among

the millions who look to their teachers to make a difference

and to supply the most significant

substance that makes them citizens.

Education is a birth right

that thousands of students take for granted despite

what they think.

Our privileged students complain while doing science

Because it involves too much math which they cannot do without reliance

on their calculator, which is an expensive appliance

More than half the world cannot afford.

They would rather sit and talk to their friends

About their video games and not the trends

of global economies or physical concepts like a concave lens

and mathematical odds and ends

that contribute to their video games which fill their time on the weekends.

We want students to succeed in the classroom

so, we give them work which we presume

will fill their time and consume

them in new content which leads to a boom

of learning and interest.

We want students to learn from their failures

and their reckless behavior

so, later

They will look back on their time in school

and realize what a tool

their teachers, whose only rule,

was to make sure their students used them as a stepping stool.

We blame our education system

and claim that students are a victim

to unfair tests and standards that are based on statistics

and we don’t listen

when parents come in and complain that their students has a condition

where they are restricted

and should be given wisdom

instead of putting in the work.

Why do we expect success from everything we try?

Why is our education system built on lies

and new content that students can’t apply

to their lives

which, since now, has allowed them to slide by

and find success.

We expect success

because we have never reassessed

the failure process.

Failure shows weakness

which instills a type of meekness

that leads to ultimate bleakness.

It’s an inferior feeling that makes people hide

instead of welcoming this feeling that denied

them a sense of pride

Because failure usually leads to defeat.

In a world where defeat is looked down upon

we need to find the will to carry on

or else

it will lead to our

downfall.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
