1. College is most certainly not like high school.
From the students, faculty, atmosphere and the workload, it is definitely not like high school.
2. The professor can make or break the class.
All it takes is one bad professor to ruin a class you were looking forward to. Or a really great one to make a boring class amazing.
3. Time management is key.
If you're a procrastinator, college sucks for a while. Or always..
4. It's okay to ask questions.
Everyone was always scared to ask a stupid question in high school. At this point, if you don't ask you won't pass. Better safe than sorry.
5. The fraternities/sororities are nothing like the movies.
They aren't annoying, loud, crazy party goers like you see in the movies. Most are actively involved in the community and regularly raise money for different fundraisers.
6. Dress code freedom is the best.
That's right, if you want to wear your Snuggie to class, you can! #dresscodefreedom
7. Making buddies in the class is key.
Trying to become temporary buddies in each class is very important. Not only do you have someone to ask all your questions, you also have someone to waste time with or partner up with!
8. If you miss a class, you better be prepared for the repercussions.
Everyone skips class sometimes, but if you're going to, be ready to be behind. This is where your buddy comes in handy. You can ask for anything you missed!
9. Sometimes setting multiple alarms is necessary.
We all know getting up sucks. But Mom isn't here to make sure you get up.
10. Don't sweat the small stuff.
A bad paper, a bad test, a broken shoe or a lost charger. Sure, it's something to be upset about, but just take a minute a breathe. It'll be okay. There are bigger things to worry about.
11. College can be a great experience if you give it a chance.
Take your classes seriously but don't take them so seriously that you ruin your chances of making memories and having a good time. This really can be the best time of your life!
