One of the (few) things I miss about high school is the ease of signing up for classes the following year. In college, I had no idea how stressful and nerve-racking this task would be. Every semester I am optimistic that it will get easier, but I have found no relief in this process. If registering for your classes is extremely hectic as well, then you are not alone. And if registering for your classes is not extremely hectic, then I am very envious of you.
You happen to go on to your school's database and realize that you are set to register for classes in a week.
Too bad you have no idea what classes you are supposed to be taking next semester.
You try to find some irrelevant class that has nothing to do with your major in order to fulfill some requirement.
You finally come up with the "perfect" schedule next year, aka one that involves nothing before 10 a.m. with professors with a high score on Ratemyprofessor.com.
You get stuck with a late registration time so you begin to watch as the seats in your classes dwindle down.
But you still remain positive that you'll get your schedule.
It is finally your time to register - the moment you've been waiting for.
But of course that's not really when you begin registering because your computer decides to lose Wi-Fi or the registration website is frozen and won't load.
Yet somehow other people are able to register for classes, so you watch in despair as your classes fill up.
The website finally loads and so ensues the most stressful two minutes of your life as you register for your classes.
Your first class becomes filled up, so you begrudgingly opt for the earlier section.
And now you're stuck taking an 8 a.m. with a professor who's not even listed on Ratemyprofessor.com.
So instead of dreading the upcoming 8 a.m. class you now have to take next semester, you treat yourself to a glass of wine and congratulate yourself on getting through registration.
