Picking a college is very important. You want to pick a school that you can call home for the next four years. All schools will have their pros and cons, but either way you still call that place home. I go to a small school and here are some pros and cons of going to a small school.
PRO: Small Campus
A small campus can be a very good thing, that means less walking. You friends are no more than a two or three minute walk away. And when it comes to classes, you can get up ten minutes before the start of class and still make it there on time.
PRO: Small Classes
When it comes to class time you want to stuck in a lecture hall or auditorium with hundreds of other people, but you are in a classroom with only 20 or so people which can make it easier for you to learn.
CON: No Greek Life
Some people might not care about Fraternities or Sororities but if you do you won't find those at small schools. I think that it is a con because that is something I would want to experience.
CON: Few Places to Eat
When living on a small campus the variety of dining options is very limited and the choices can get old pretty quickly. As a college student you probably won't have a ton of money so you can't always afford to order food or go out.
CON: Not a lot of Campus Events
Other than home coming and some sports games there aren't a ton of events held on campus. Sure there are a lot of academic events but as far as fun there might only be two or three a month. In comparison to bigger universities, event might happen more often.
PRO: You Are Not Just A Number
You professors will actually know your name and try to build a relationship with you. Your professors will care about your success just as much as you do as long as you reach out to them.
PRO/CON: You See the Same People Everyday
This can be a pro or con depending on who you are. If there are only a couple thousdand of people on campus you will see those people everyday. You might not know their name but you will recognize their face. It can be hard to meet new people though considering you don't really every see or meet anyone new on campus.
