Purpose is appearing to be my theme for July. As it has organically surfaced its way into my life. First, with the launch of my new and approved ‘adult’ life, secondly with the resurgence of my identity. Purpose, purpose, purpose, has found its way etching its seams into my fabric and holding together my days when they appear unstable.
The idea manufactured its way into my life, meaning it found me and not the other way around, which is a commonly known attribute of this facet, as purpose is often considered to be 'dive.'
According to Merriam-webster purpose is described as being:
“The object for which something exists or is done; end in view.”
In other definitions it was said to be intentional, meaning not by happenstance or coincidence. Now, I’m not sure about your personal beliefs but I for one do not believe in ‘coincidences’... and please allow me to follow up with saying that I also do not believe that every little instance is a HUGE DIVINE MOMENT either. However, what I am saying is that everything is a product of a choice made in some period of time.
The law of attraction- Principle of sowing and reaping- Karma, etc. however you prefer to dice it up and serve, what you give is what you get, and what you get is a result of what you’ve given. Yet, your purpose is attached to neither in regard to logistics of these principles meaning that if your purpose is the ‘end in view,’ then you’re giving-sowing into the universe should be attached to?...... you guessed right your purpose.
The formula here is clear and concise, because if ‘I’ (for example) know my purpose than ‘I’ can live my life accordingly; sowing and reaping beneficial seeds.
So, what’s my purpose? Some of you may ask and although there are various talents, passions, and gifts that we’ve been destined for our purpose in life is simple and unified. Our purpose being to love and to be loved.
To be recipients and distributors of love.
One in the same simultaneously operating in both functions. “Freely you have received; freely give.” Matthew 10:8. The fundamentals of purpose are very clear in regard to being a perpetual cycle, an ongoing act of service. We’ve never ‘arrived’ when it comes to this because we’re always giving and receiving. Pouring out and implementing. Growing and discovering until we depart.
So, how does one maintain such? By patience and the knowledge that all things are manifested in its proper time. The physical expressions such as purpose are bound to appear when the internal has taken root.
So as you’re growing in spirit remember to not only be patient but solid in your faith. Keep in mind that purpose is simply having the ‘end in view’, meaning your end goal of fulfillment should always be in mind.
