Everyone knows that I have been there, and we all know some people who have never failed a class in their life. This isn't just for the college students, it is for any student; nursing school, high school, tech school, etc. We all have that one class that we have to retake. Maybe we will get it the second time, but there is a chance it could take more than that. It took me three tries to pass a PreCalculus class because let's be honest, who uses logarithms when tracking down criminals? Not me, that's for sure.
It is okay to fail a class.
I have failed Chemistry and Precalc. I freaked out like crazy and thought my college career was over. I have never felt so disappointed in my life. It was only when I talked to my mom that I felt as though I could try the class again. My Mom and Dad told me stories about a number of times they had failed at something, and when they kept going they got it eventually. Not everyone finishes everything on the same pace. If you're in high school, take advantage of the tutoring the teachers offer in class as well as after school hours; because let me tell you, professor "office hours" do not always work with your schedule in college or tech school.
Get back at it when you are ready.
Do not let other people's opinions sway your choices. You will know better than anyone else when you are ready to try again, or if you even want to try again. If it is not required, then make a decision; now if it is required, you're going to have to do it again. Take advantage of all the free help you can, and find out if your friends are better suited to help you in some subjects. It doesn't hurt to ask your friends for help, and usually, you can help them with something too!
All in all, it can be pretty disappointing if you fail a class. Don't let that be the ending factor of your education! You've got this, and you can pass that class! Just because it takes you a little longer to pass PreCalc, doesn't mean you won't fly by in World Literature.
