The Pathway Of College

In a pathway there is no elevator to success. It's stairs to success.

The Pathway Of College

What's college? People all over the world have their own point of views and their own opinions about college. The main words from people is partying, fun, class, and freedom. That's not my point of view at all! I've graduated in 2013 and after that I attended Blinn College to get my 2 years of basics done. So, what's college? College is a start for a future and a serious pathway to success. A pathway is a guide to something that a person is reaching for or something that guides you to where you need to be. During my first year of college as a freshman, my pathway was rough and I thought college wasn't for me at all. College can change people from good to bad and I learned my lesson. College can stress you out and have you willing to give up. College can make you a better person, it can make you have second thoughts on your career, and the main thing college can do is show you how strong minded you are or weak minded. After I made my choice to go to Blinn I had to sign up for classes, do financial aid, get advised, pay fees, go back and forth to Brenham from Houston every weekend, and every time I finished what I had to do to get to college another situation happens. I had to have a strong mindset on everything to get enrolled into Blinn and I always told myself to never give up. After all the negative things coming my way I made it to the Fall semester and I was finally enrolled for 2015. My fall semester was perfect! I had A's and B's, I was in the sports medicine program, I met new people, and at the end of the semester I made it to the Dean's list with the GPA of a 3.2. It was the best feeling and I felt good because I wasn't wasting my parents money and I was making them proud. During my Spring semester as a freshman classes started to get a little more rough. I had to take biology and algebra at the same time. Algebra was my weakness and I tried very hard to keep my grades up for both classes. My 2nd semester was messed up because I started to party more and I felt like I wasn't focused enough on my grades. Weeks passed by and I had to drop biology. at the end of my spring semester my GPA went down to a 3.0 and I felt like I was unsuccessful. It took me a while to let it go but as of today, I still feel like I didn't do my best. I promised myself I will do twice as much work for my sophomore year at Blinn College. College is nothing to play around with. I feel like being in college is a opportunity for people that want to be better in life and make something out of their selves for the future. People make mistakes but if they do they are able to get back on their feet if it gets hard in college. The main quote I would give people is "Never give up", and if people have that with them their pathways to college would be more easier. Its alright to have fun at times, but when it's time to work, it's time to work! Now what's college? Its the pathway to your choices!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
