Sometimes you just feel tired of being noticed. It might sound crazy to say — in this world where we thirst for attention and to be seen, but it's true.
We grew up hearing "it's okay to be different," along with other phrases that were supposed to make us feel better about not being like everyone else. The older we get, the less we're supposed to care what other people think. You never really cared before — so why do you care now?
You want to fit in — but you stand out. You're talked about when you just want to blend in. Everyone knows who you are — and everything about you. You just want to be well liked and have lots of friends. In reality, you spend your time feeling alone and feeling like an outcast.
It's okay to be different. It's okay to be an outcast.
Embrace your uniqueness. You have your own physical features; your own set of dreams; your own character.
Embrace your individuality.
That day might not be today or tomorrow — but one day you'll be glad you were an outcast. People are going to like you for who you are regardless of any other detail. It's those people who look up to you. By being an outcast— you've seen the true character of others. You've seen the people who are easily persuaded by others and aren't strong- which allows the friends you do have, to be true friends.
You stand out because you're a leader. They talk about you because they are jealous. You're an example.
You were born an outcast.
You were created by God — making you beautiful. Being an outcast is not a bad thing. Looking back on it- you'll realize there was a valuable lesson to be learned in the adversities faced. It may seem tough right now since we focus so hard on the negatives that we are blinded to the positives.
Don’t be so afraid to color outside of the lines that you never pick up your crayon. Don't feel embarrassed, ashamed, or wish you were someone different. You are who you are and it's such a beautiful thing. The one who was different was the one who everyone remembered and never forgot. The person who got the jobs, got recognized, and awarded for their achievements, got it because they stood out amongst the others. The one who broke the mold was the one who left a legacy — impacted those around them.
Don't hide who you are. Let your colors shine through because you are unique. You are special. You are an outcast.
