The Cult-Favorite Skincare Brand The Ordinary TRANSFORMED My Dry, Acne-Prone Skin

-After spending major dough on products promising huge results, nothing was satisfactory for me.

-Recently, I discovered the brand The Ordinary and after just one week of using their products, my skin became visibly clearer and brighter.

-I tried the Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%, the AHA 30% + BHA 2% peeling solution, and squalane on my dry, acne-prone skin.

I bought three products total from them. But to understand why I chose those let me explain my skin type; my skin is really dry and I had bumps along my cheekbones, as well as a scattering of pimples along my forehead and cheeks.

To deal with these concerns, I bought the Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%, the AHA 30% + BHA 2% peeling solution, and the Squalane.

This brand is sold at Sephora but online only. Now let's get into what each product does.

Niacinamide and Zinc Solution

The Niacinamide 10% and Zinc 1% solution, is good for controlling sebum(oil) production and reduces the appearance of pores. It costs $5.90 for 1 oz. The directions say to use it every morning and every night.

This product is good, but out of the total three products I bought it was the least effective for me. This may be because my skin is dry so I don't produce a lot of sebum (oil) to begin with. I did see a slight decrease in the number of bumps on my face. This product would be best for you if you have really oily skin.

Squalane

The Squalane was designed to hydrate the skin and costs $7.90. This is a 100% plant-derived oil-like solution and is really good at hydrating the skin, It doesn't feel heavy on the skin and you only need about three drops for every use.

I use this over the Niacinamide solution every night and wake up with healthy and glowy skin.

AHA + BHA Peeling Solution

The AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution is my favorite product of the three I bought and costs $7.20. This is the blood-red face mask that became really famous for Tik Tok.

Whereas the other two products are more like serums, this is a face mask that you leave on for 10 minutes before rinsing off. After just the first time I used it, I saw my skin looked brighter and the pimples on my forehead had shrunk.

You need to be careful with this product because it is really strong. I use it only at night and avoid putting it on the night before I am going to spend the whole day in the sun. It is also recommended that you don't use Niacinamide and the AHA solution together so if I put the AHA face mask on the night before, I will skip the Niacinamide solution that day.

You should always wear sunscreen but I particularly make sure I have a nice layer of sunscreen on before leaving the house if I had used the AHA the night before.

Conclusion

These products really do work and each cost less than 10 dollars! The Ordinary's skincare line is quite large so if the mentioned products don't cater to your needs, you can go on the Sephora website and look and the other products they carry.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
