The One With My Favorite SNL Skits

Saturday Night Live has always been one of my favorite shows. When you find someone who has watched SNL it’s pretty easy to continue a conversation with them because there are way too many funny skits to talk about. Here are my top 5 favorites:

1.) More Cowbell

This is easily one of the funniest SNL skits of all time. This skit takes place in a studio where Will Ferrell, Chris Parnell, Jimmy Fallon, and Chris Kattan are recording the song "(Don't Fear) The Reaper" by Blue Öyster Cult. Christopher Walken hosted this episode, and in this skit walks in and demands that Will Ferrell uses “more cowbell” in the performance. I don’t know if their outfits are the funniest parts, or that Jimmy Fallon can not stop laughing (as usual).

2.) New Girlfriend

This skit aired this year when Fred Armisen hosted. Jason Sudeikis, who plays Michael, brings his new girlfriend Regine, Fred Armisen, to meet his friends. Physical affection makes Regine act out in strange ways. Everyone is uncomfortable and all the characters break in this skit which always makes it even more funny.

3.) Chronicles of Narnia (Lazy Sunday)

Andy Samberg is one of my favorite people ever, and his SNL Digital Short’s never fail to make me laugh. One of his classic shorts was released in 2005 with Chris Parnell. This offbeat rap about their desire to see the film The Chronicles of Narnia changed Samberg’s life forever. This rap got him recognized a lot more and was a platformfor him. P.S Lazy Sunday Pt 2 is just as good.

4.) Wild and Crazy Guys

The Festrunk brothers were some “wild and crazy guys.” Dan Aykroyd and Steve Martin played Georg and Yortuk Festrunk who were political refugees that escaped riots by “throwing many rocks at a Russian tank.” They usually talked about their “large bulges” and “many swinging adventures.” A must watch.

5.) Kissing Family

This is probably one of the grossest skits but I promise you will not stop laughing at it. This skit, which includes so many amazing actors like Bill Hader and Fred Armisen, is about a family that are REALLY close and love to show their affection to each other. The whole family definitely has boundary issues because they all make out with each other. I know it sounds gross, but it is hysterical.

These are just SOME of my favorites. It was really hard to pick only five. Some of my other favorites that you should watch are “Sarah Palin Interviews with Katie Couric,” “Homelessville,” “The Spartan Cheerleaders,” “Wayne’s World,” “Debbie Downer,” “The Barry Gibb Talk Show,” “Target Lady,” “Matt Foley: Motivational Speaker,” and of course any Celebrity Family Feud. I’m sure as soon as I submit this article I will think of 20 more, but those are the greatest that come to mind. Hope you enjoy this list of hysterical skits and LIVE FROM NEW YORK ITS SATURDAY NIGHTTTTTTT!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Whether you met your new love interest online, through mutual friends, or another way entirely, you'll definitely want to know what you're getting into. I mean, really, what's the point in entering a relationship with someone if you don't know whether or not you're compatible on a very basic level?

Consider these 21 questions to ask in the talking stage when getting to know that new guy or girl you just started talking to:

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
