"The Office! A Musical Parody" Is A Show Not To Miss

The Office. I'm sure you all have heard of or seen the famous television show about a mockumentory of a paper business in Scranton, Pennsylvania. If not, then I really do not know what you're doing with your life. The Office is a 9 season series that is available on Netflix, and it is continuing to get popular despite the fact that there are no more new episodes. I finished the series in 10th grade and I absolutely loved it. I still watch some episodes here and there just to get a good laugh at some of my favorite episodes. When I found out they were making an off-broadway parody I was so shocked. It was something I definitely had to see. So my girlfriend and I bought us tickets over the summer and we saw it this past October.

The show was incredible.

Now you're probably wondering how they made a television show into a musical since there's a million different plots throughout the series. That's the best part. As the musical went on, they would incorporate different aspects of so many episodes within a scene and it all made sense. One moment you would be watching Kevin talking about his chili, and the next thing you know Jim is confessing his love for Pam. Truly, the show was so pure and unique I loved it so much.

The cast consisted of around 8 actors or so. Yes, the television show has way more than 8 characters, so how did they do that? This is the thing I was most impressed with: the actors changed characters throughout the scenes. The guy who played Jim also played Andy. The girl who played Kevin also played Roy, and Meredith. Oscar? Played by a woman who also played Karen and Kelly. It was amazing! I will admit, I was a little skeptical about different genders playing certain characters because every now and then those shows don't come off the right way. This show was perfect with it. The leading actress who played Michael Scott was phenomenal, as well as everyone else in the show. Each character had their own personal background to them and you could clearly distinguish who was who. The amount of quick changes I saw within ten seconds was crazy! One second The lady who played Kevin was all of the sudden Meredith in a completely different costume. Crazy stuff.

Honestly, overall the show was impeccable. I was worried about seeing an off-broadway show about a hit television show, but after seeing it I can tell you right now it was absolutely worth the money and I would hands down see it again. The story, the laughter, the jokes, the characters, and everything were just truly amazing. It captured the whole essence of what the Office is on TV and how the characters act towards one another. They included inside jokes and memes here and there, and the audience's response always ended up being laughter and smiling. To the cast and crew of this production: Thank you for making our television series a reality for us. You truly made it an unforgettable experience.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
