With Nintendo Switch’s March 3rd release date less than a week away, Nintendo fans are overwhelmed with excitement. This excitement is being fueled by the day as the major gaming review companies, such as IGN, are getting the hybrid console sent to them early courtesy of Ninentndo. There was even a huge scandal of a Nintendo Switch console being stolen and sold to an unknown gamer who released pictures of what consumers would be getting inside the box as well as how to setup the device, information that was vaguely talked about before the controversy. With the theft scandal and coverage from the gaming review companies the hype, for the Nintendo Switch was at an all time high but unfortunately, Nintendo managed to cripple the hype surrounding the Switch once again.
This Is because Nintendo recently announced that the Nintendo Switch would not launch with Nintendos famous virtual console. The virtual console will allow consumers of the Nintendo Switch to purchase and play a variety of historic gaming titles from Nintendo’s famous gaming library. This was a huge disappointment to Nintendo Fans as Nintendo Switch Is going to Launch with only a handful of launch titles. One of the weakest launches in gaming history. Seeing that The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild is the only game to really generating the Pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch a lot of Nintendo fans planned on utilizing the Virtual Console feature to hold them over until other games, such as the heavily anticipated Mario Odyssey, are released. That’s right, the Nintendo Switch is going to launch without a Mario which is possibly Nintendos most lucrative franchise. While this news is disappointing to Nintendo fans, Nintendo is really hurting themselves by not launching the Switch with Virtual Console features since the Virtual Console was a huge success with the Nintendo Wii,
If the announcement of there being no Virtual Console at the Switch’s launch was not bad enough, there also a lot of technical issues being reported by those who were able to get their hands on a Nintendo Switch early through legitimate means. These reports are worrisome as it involves how the player will control the Nintendo Switch. It is being reported by countless users that the Switch struggles to keep the controllers in Sync when they are not connected to the device itself. In case you may not know, the Nintendo switch is a home console that can also serve as a portable console that has detachable controllers for cooperative and competitive play. Specifically, problems seem to be centered around the left detachable controller having a slight lag compared to the right detachable controller. Fortunately, this is a problem that can be fixed with a simple system update that will hopeful be part of a day one system patch.
From the low number of launch titles to the lack of internet browser at launch to the technical issues starting to surface, Nintendo seems to have their work cut out for them to make sure the Nintendo Switch is more successful than the Nintendo Wii U.
