It has been on the syllabus since the first day of classes; you have a test coming up this week and you thought you were prepared for it until you realized that the exam is tomorrow.
You try not to panic as you begin to look over your notes. After flipping through a few pages, you realize you don't recall any of the information you had written so neatly during lecture.
Trying to hold back your panic isn't working as you slowly begin to lose it. Your roommates look at you like you have eight heads and they are not quite sure how to handle you.
They tell you to breathe and that it will be all okay. But what do they know? They don't have to take this exam tomorrow, they don't realize that you know NONE of the information that is supposed to be on the exam.
You finally pull yourself together and get ready to stay up late. You have your coffee, snacks, flashcards and highlighters close by and you're ready to go.
The first chapter is finally finished and it is time for a quick breather. You still have a ways to go but you are starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
1 a.m. rolls around and the caffeine is starting to wear off. You are really struggling to stay focused, all you can think about is how comfortable your bed is. Your breaking point is near and you are so ready to give up.
Finally! All your flashcards have been made, you've highlighted the other important parts of your notes, and you finally feel like you know the information, or at least more than before. Maybe, just maybe, next time you have an exam, you won't wait to start studying until the night before. Good luck!
