The countdown until the second semester has begun. Soon we will be back at UNH. Back to our old ways, back to causing trouble and making memories. I'm really excited to have a new roommate coming to my suite also. So new suitemate, here's an open letter for you.
Welcome to the new suite!
Even though I already filled you in on most of the dynamics of how the suite usually is, here is some stuff to keep in mind. You will never be bored. We are never boring. Whether it is going out, adventures to dining halls, or adventures to Portsmouth, you will never be bored. You're also going to hear some bumpin music.
I'm always waddling into the next room asking what song they're playing. You're also always going to get the truth. I've found these suitemates to be the most honest people, and it's wonderful. You'll get an honest opinion about an outfit, makeup, or boy advice. We are always going to have your back.
You're also going to find that we go through toilet paper like it's our job. For some strange reason, we just go through it like crazy. So don't be surprised when it's your turn to buy the toilet paper so soon even though we just recently got a pack. Be prepared to lots of hair too. Hair everywhere. Especially in the shower.
Be prepared to wake up early. I love sleeping in, but by sleeping in, you usually miss morning breakfast and all of the fun morning antics and story-telling from what happened the night before. Be prepared to share these stories and remember them for the rest of your life.
You'll never be lonely in the beehive either. Sometimes, it's rare, but sometimes no one will be there. That never happens though. Someone is usually almost home. In which case, you'll always have someone to talk to or ask questions to. Or someone to get dinner with.
When we talk, or when other people are talking, prepare yourself to not know who someone is talking about. There have been so many times when I didn't know who someone was talking about, so I tend to just wait and ask questions after as to who these people are. Don't feel left out.
Sometimes we eat dinner together. As far as dinner goes, we eat pretty early. Bring snacks back, because odds are you're probably going to get hungry later.
Just some stuff to look forward to as you enter the beehive next week, and I can't wait to see what this semester brings!
