As an avid and frequent moviegoer, I can honestly say that 2016 was a great year for film. Great movies were created from all different movie genres. Granted, this list contains only some of the movies that I have seen, and trust me there are plenty more that were released that I definitely still want to see... but for now, here are the movies from 2016 that I would highly recommend to all the movie fans out there:

1. Passengers (December 21st, 2016)

Who doesn't love a good love story set in space? Now, I know that this movie did not get the best reviews, but I absolutely loved it!

2. Central Intelligence (June 17th, 2016)

Honestly, when seeing a movie in the theater, I have never laughed for so long and for so hard. Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart... enough said

3. Deadpool (February 12th, 2016)

There are almost no words to describe this film except that Ryan Reynolds is amazing in this and yes, it should have been nominated for an Oscar.

4. Captain America: Civil War (May 6th, 2016)

As an avid Marvel fan, this movie really tugs at the heartstrings... but it is definitely worth the watch and is a worthy addition to the franchise.

5. Collateral Beauty (December 16th, 2016)

PSA: Kleenex is a requirement if you choose to see this film.

6. The Legend of Tarzan (July 1st, 2016)

A live action film about Tarzan with Samuel L. Jackson as the comic relief? Who wouldn't want to see this action film?

7. Moana (November 23rd, 2016)

The Rock was destined to voice the character of Maui. And the stupid chicken gives a unique touch to this movie.

8. The Jungle Book (April 4th, 2016)

It can't get much better than Bill Murray as the voice of Baloo.

9. Why Him? (December 23rd, 2016)

James Franco was born to play this role since no one else could have pulled this off as well and as hilariously as he did.

10. Dirty Grandpa (January 22nd, 2016)

Mostly because Robert De Niro is one of my absolute favorite actors, but this movie is also hilarious just overall.

11. La La Land (December 9th, 2016)

I'm usually not one for musicals like this, but with all the hype surrounding it my interest was immediately sparked, and I am so glad that it did. This movie was amazing as well as the music in it.

12. Finding Dory (June 17th, 2016)

Ellen Degeneres has waited 10 years for this, and it was definitely worth the wait.

These films made me laugh, made me cry, and laugh so hard that I cried. I would recommend these movies again and again. So the next time you decided you want to chill out and have yourself a movie night, pick one of these great movies. I promise, you won't be dissappointed.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
