Will it blend is like that horrible train wreck that you can't seem to look away from. Admittedly its hilarious, if you ever have an extra minute look it up on YouTube. In the videos founder of Blendtec blenders Tom Dickson blends everything from broom handles to a new iPhone 6. Why anyone would want to know if those things blend is beyond me. But hey, I can't deny that the videos are nothing short of the funniest thing i've ever seen. In the background they play corny gameshow music, throw things in a blender and ask "will it blend? That is the question" what kind of question is that? Any person with half a brain can guess that will happen, but you'd be surprised what kind of absurd things they throw into this blender. At one point, the guy throws a leaf rake in it...how is that even possible? Watch and be amazed, or just laugh at how corny it is.
I first came across this when watching "How It's Made" (i know i'm a nerd) so I know a little too much about blenders now. First off the jar is made out of a polycarbonate material which is the same stuff they make bullet proof glass out of. The blade spins at 28,000 RPM and they test each batch of blenders with the 2 by 2 test. They literally stick a two inch by two inch board into the blender and watch it obliterate it into toothpicks. If the blendtec can do that i'm sure it can handle your morning smoothie. One of these bad boys ranges in price from $249.99 all the way up to one thousand dollars. Pretty sure those are the models you see in smoothie king. I don't know why I would ever need a blender this powerful for. Nevertheless i'm sure I could think of a few uses in my fraternity house for a blender that can literally pulverize a brick. That is why "will it blend is the most ingenious marketing scheme out there. It's that train wreck that you can't help but watch and I never thought I would get to see an iPhone 6 put through a blender. Now I want one and you probably will too, but when you get it just resist the temptation to throw your cell phone in there because it will turn it into Smoothie King's newest flavor.
