With Halloween today I figured, why let this educational opportunity pass? With all the Halloween articles and posts you will read today, this one will be about something you don't hear too much about: Tarot Cards and readings.
What is this tarot thing? Well, let's start with the basics. Tarot cards have been around since the 14th century and have been used for fortune telling. Many people believe that tarot readings only tell you future things to come. Yes and no. Tarot cards can also be used to advise on specific situations instead of giving a broad explanation of the future. However, these divination cards and their meaning will change based on the individual and what that individual seeks.
Tarot cards are available to anyone via Amazon, your local bookstore, Halloween shops, etc. Today, most card decks come printed on a heavy duty card and then laminated for protection. Back in the 17th century, Grimaud made his deck on wood blocks and later colored them in with stencils, though that's way unnecessary in today's society, Grimaud's card deck is still sought after.
Tarot card usage originated as a game. Centuries later, divination practice and tarot readings can help people make life decisions or it's a fun thing to do because the little shack looked cool on the side of the road. Regardless of where you might find them, I strongly recommend having your cards delt.
