One of the greatest things about living in New York City is that there are so many places to explore. There is a countless number of museums that are so graciously free to the public. The Metropolitan Museum of Art is the largest art museum in the United States, and it has millions of works divided into a number of departments. There's so much history to be learned, it would take hours to take in everything. The museum has been open for 143 years, and as of recently, occupies over 2 million square feet. The location of the museum is great because surrounding it is Central Park.
Once inside you are recommended to pay for admission. The admission fee for adults is $25; however, it's only recommended, so you can pay whatever amount you wish. Because the museum is so large, there are maps available with all the locations of the departments, but there are also many workers around the different rooms to help out and provide information. There are also cafes around the museum to eat at which can be nice if you need to take a break in between exploring the vastness of the museum. For those who prefer to explore at night, the museum is open later on Fridays and Saturdays until 9:30 p.m.

If you're ever looking or something to do, whether it's sunny or rainy out, The Met is a great place to go to. There are always new things to discover, and it will never disappoint. And for any Gossip Girl fans, it's always a must to take a picture while sitting on the iconic steps of the museum outside.
