Growing up, my sister and I didn't really get along that much--I think being a young kid, it's weird to show too much affection for your siblings because you want to be seen as cool. I think that is kind of how it goes with most little kids with siblings.
As little kids, me and my sister got along because I think we were little and we were at the age where we just played together (until we would start fighting, whoops!) but as we grew up to be middle schoolers and high schoolers, we began to find ourselves and have different friends, so we would hang out with each other less and less besides being at home, which was okay because we both had our own friends and hung out with different people so neither of us was really left out.
As we got to high school, we played soccer together and that was about it. We both had different activities at different times and got home at different times so we never really hung out or even talked barely, we didn't really get the time! That was something we grew used to though throughout our four years of high school.
Having a twin sister is literally like having an eternal friend, a forever friend. As we both went off to college, it was much harder to see her, obviously, but I think that distance was honestly the best thing for our relationship because we never got to see each other. We would FaceTime literally every day and talk or I would drive to where she lived and spend weekends there with her and always would have the best time.
So, now spending summer with her is pretty awesome because we get to hang out and do things together, like simply going out to get food. I know I will be sad to leave her and my family when I go back to school!
