What’s better than coming home after a long grueling day to the sound of your beloved pet’s collar jingling to greet you at the door? They have waited all day for this moment. Lying around all alone for hours anticipating his or her master to walk through that door to receive the a belly rub or chin tickle. An adored pet is always the last one to see you out the door, and the first to welcome you.
After a rough day at work or school, most people want to relax and get away from all human interaction. Sit on the couch with your favorite snacks while binge watching favored episodes you haven’t been able to keep up on due to all of the busywork and stress going on. Suddenly you hear the jingle. Up jumps to your side either your dog or cat.
Your dog tries to give you high-speed kisses trying to drown you in love attempting to get some of those snacks on your lap; soon your face is sopping from the soft, warm and what smells like bacon puppy tongue. The kitty on the other hand doesn’t want any of your snacks, but jumps up right onto your lap no matter what’s on it. Laptop? Oh I like the way the keys massage my kitty back. Magazine? Yeah I can lie on that too. Fuzzy blanket? Let me make myself comfortable and stare at you while I slowly wave my tail back and fourth. Hello, are you going to pet me yet?
Of course you give them a ridiculous amount of love after that no matter what they disrupted. Staying mad at a pet for long is impossible. Their soft little bodies, perky little ears or tails and those big glossy eyes cuddled up next to you. So, you forgive them and continue with “you” time.
Once your episodes and snacks are finished (with help from your dog of course) it’s time for bed.
As you lay in bed your mind slowly drifts into the rabbit’s hole, and it won’t shut off -- thinking about absolutely everything. You hear the faint jingle and up joins your pet. You don’t only take care of your pets, but they take care of you as well. They know more about you than your best friend, spouse or even your own mother. Your pet cuddles you when you cry, and are the reason why you laugh.
No matter what you will always have your pet by your side. They love you unconditionally, and what is better than that? They never judge, they never argue, and they just want to be loved; in all honesty that's what humans want too.
