A list of just a few life goals!

Life is short; we have all heard this saying throughout our lives. The world is very large, and there is so much to do! After recently talking to one of my friends about life plans, I decided to create a bucket list of some of the most important activities and goals that I plan to do in the near future. Here are just a few of the things I want to be able to check off my list within the next few years (No specific order!)

1. Travel

This is on everyone's list. Coming from someone who has never left American soil, this is one of my top items to check off. I want to be able to experience other cultures, meet different types of people, and understand different world views. I am half Greek, and have family that lives in Greece. This is a gorgeous country, and one of the top places that I would like to visit. Studying abroad is something to consider when wanting to travel. Though being away from home for such a significant amount of time is scary, I plan on doing some sort of study abroad program to fulfill my dream of traveling, and add to my college experience!

2. Go Scuba Diving

I love the beach, and have always wanted to be able to scuba dive and swim with marine life! The ocean is so large, and I would love to be able to explore just a little bit of it.

3. Learn a New Language

I have taken three years of French, one year of Spanish, and I know a few Greek words/sayings, but one of my life goals is to be fluent in a language other than English! Communicating with people from a different country, in their native language, would be an amazing experience!

4. See a Play on Broadway

After my sister had the opportunity to visit New York and watch several Broadway productions, it has become one of my personal goals to se a Broadway play. Her praise and awe of the acting, singing, and dancing, has inspired me to add this to my list!

5. Times Square on New Year's Eve

Speaking of New York, one of my lifelong goals has always been to go to Times Square on New Year's Eve, and watch the ball drop live! I have only watched this event on TV, but the excitement and the live musical performances have fascinated me year after year. I hope to check this one off soon!

6. Start Doing Yoga

For years, I have heard that yoga is not only a great way to stay relaxed, but also a great workout. Though I have tried it a couple times, I have never consistently practiced yoga. I want a new outlet for stress relief, and I am hoping to find it in yoga.

7. Do Something Meaningful

I am still trying to figure out what I want to do, and what I want to get out of life. Though my future is fuzzy, one thing is clear: I want to be someone, and do something, that impacts this world in a positive way. Whether in a large way, or a small way, I want my life to have meaning. I want to inspire, help, and encourage others. I want to live a life full of love, happiness, and success.

These are just a few of the current items on my bucket list. Life is filled with ups and downs, but I hope to be able to cross off and add to this list as the years go by!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
