We never realize how fast time is going by until something so profound strikes us that it makes us stop and think for a second.
The era of being a "90's baby" is slowly coming to an end. As the years pass, the great years of the 90's that made so many of us who were are today are fading away as a new generation springs up that had no clue what All That or Hey! Arnold was.
I was talking to one of my best friends the other day, and he was telling how if we went back to our high school, we wouldn't know a single person and that the new incoming freshman are the last of our kind because they are the last group of kids to be born in the 90's.
The good old days of coming home from school and signing onto your AIM account or waking up early to catch that episode Rocket Power are now just visions of the past. Everyone knew the "All That" theme song or that "Rugrats" intro, even knew "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" into by heart. I remember playing "MASH" in class and sending notes to your friends in class while trying not to get caught by the teacher. The great movies of the Disney Channel like "Brink!," "Smart House," and "Johnny Tsunami." Don't even get me started on "Boy Meets World" because we would be here for days. Such cherished memories are now starting to lose their worth as a new generation sinks in and all the great things about being a 90's baby no longer mean anything to anyone.
The 90's were home to some of the most iconic figures from The Backstreet Boys (Even though they are still around) to Keenan & Kel, all the way to going to Blockbuster to rent a movie because there was no such thing as Netflix or even a DVD for a long period of time. One thing I will always take from growing up in the 90's that I was taught from generations before me was the importance of being outside and that any chance to get outside and play I would take it. You never see or hear kids say I'm going outside because one physical activity just turns them off and everything they need is inside now. It just shows how times are changing and kids rarely go outside to play because video games and computers are have changed the meaning of "fun" for this new generation.
Parents used to tell us stay young for as long as we can because now we know that age of innocence is not very long lived. We were just kids back then without a care in the world because we didn't know any better. Everything was all fun and games, never had to question our lives because everything was so simple and free. Now I look back and remember those good ol' days where everything was full of laughter, for me it was the 90's for you it may be different. We all have that time period that we miss when everything was ALL THAT.
