I made the best/ right decision

The Kids Are Alright

Last week my life took a surprising turn for the better. After coming back from a friend's apartment down the road I was walking back to my door when all of a sudden two young dogs came running up to me looking for a little love. It was raining outside so I wondered who let these dogs just run free at night in the rain. They were both very excited when I stopped to pay them some attention. One of the first things I noticed was that neither one of them had tags and one didn't even have a collar on. I thought maybe they got out and their owners are probably pretty worried. I walked around my apartment complex shouting that I had found two dogs but no one responded. I wasn't sure what to do because I didn't want to just leave them out at night in the rain running around the parking lot. I brought them inside and let them spend the night figuring I would get up early and surely find their owners out looking for them.

The following day I asked around, posted pictures, and called local shelters trying to find who these dogs belonged to. When I finally found the owners it was my surprise to learn that both dogs belonged to the same apartment only a building over from mine. It was then that I learned that the previous owners simply got tired of taking care of two puppies, so they took off their tags and kicked them out, locking the door after them. They simply just let them go to fend for themselves. Naturally, I was appalled, asking why they would even bother getting dogs if they were not ready for the responsibility. What really made me mad was that instead of finding new owners or bringing them to a shelter, they just kicked them out of their lives without even trying to find them a new home.

Right then and there I declared that I would take the dogs in and work on finding them new homes. Things didn't really work out like that because within only a few days I couldn't imagine getting rid of either one. I love them both, spoiling them with treats and toys, spending just about all day every day with them, and looking passed the destruction that comes along with having two puppies with very playful attitudes. These two dogs came from a lousy situation and together we have turned it into a wonderful relationship. It's like having two children running around, whining, using the bathroom, eating, and getting into trouble. Molly and Jeter are here to stay and ready to play!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
