"And I love you like Kanye loves Kanye" - Kanye West
Whether you are a Kanye West fan or not, it is a simple fact that this man has a massive ego. But, for what reason? I can say that I have had a tough time balancing both my love and hate for Mr. West. Most people can agree that Kanye's big mouth always causes some controversy and conversation. I mean, when is there a day when people don't talk about something Kanye said on Twitter or to the paparazzi? The man is constantly being discussed whether it is in a positive or negative way.
Recently, Kanye dropped his first album since 2013, and it is nothing less than incredible. West's new album "The Life of Pablo" has been hyped up for months, and I can speak for most of his fans and say that it was worth all of the hype it received. Ugh, the struggles of supporting an artist with too big of an ego and a bad attitude.
Now, this album completely blew me away and I can definitely say it was worth the wait (I can't see myself listening to anything else for quite some time). But, we are still talking about Kanye here, therefore, there are some controversial and downright ridiculous lyrics; along with incredible ones.
One of the songs from TLOP titled "Famous", featuring Rihanna and Swizz Beats, Kanye says "I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex. Why? I made that b*tch famous." I am no Taylor Swift fan at all, but these lyrics caused a huge storm, especially from the Swift fandom (obviously). But, according to Kanye, he got permission from Taylor to use these lyrics in his song and, of course, resorted to Twitter to let everyone know that.
Kanye also had the audacity to call him and the Kardashian clan the "new Jacksons" in his song "Highlights." Now now, Kanye, your family is extremely famous and successful, but there will never be a new Jackson family. That is just foolish. Fashion-wise, though, that family is completely killing it.
With Kanye's faults and all, you can never take the fact that he is an absolute musical genius away from him. With 21 Grammy awards under his belt (plenty more to come) and a very successful fashion line with three seasons and currently working on his fourth, Kanye for sure has a big mouth and an even bigger ego, but, it definitely isn't for no reason.
I respect Kanye as an artist and as a designer, but I do not respect Kanye as a person all the time. I go back and forth deciding whether I think he's a completely ignorant person or if he is just a crazy genius. Regardless, I am learning that I can love Kanye West and dislike him at the same time. Plus, would Kanye even be Kanye if he didn't have his big head and an ignorant attitude? I don't want to find that out.
