Waking up to the very exciting news I am going to be an Aunt NEVER gets old. One morning, 14 years ago at the age of six, is when it all started. I received the very first phone call that I was going to be an aunt to a baby girl! I remember being so excited! The day you were born was the most emotional day in my life at that age. A couple years later, my oldest brother calls and says, “I hope you are ready to be an aunt again to a baby boy!" Instantly, I replied with, "Oh my goodness, are you serious? Yay! I love babies!" My mom then comes in and says, "I knew for a few weeks now but your brother wanted to be the one to tell you that you are going to be an aunt to a baby boy this time around!"

Meanwhile, I have had several nieces and nephews in between and the memories haven’t faded; there are just some I remember better than the others. I have four more nieces and one more nephew that I absolutely adore and although I don’t see them every day, they are a huge part of my life!

A few years have gone by now and I was blessed with a phone call from my sister saying, “I have some exciting news, you are going to be an aunt once again.“ At this point, we weren’t sure if we were going to be blessed with a boy or a girl. I responded to her by saying that whether it was a boy or girl I would be overjoyed either way. A few months later we got the phone call that said we were being blessed with a baby boy! I remember helping her try to pick out baby boy names they just weren’t good enough. As time went on we still were trying to think of names and one day she replies with William Henry! Henry was my great grandfather's name so she decided to keep that name in the family!

One more year has gone by and we are out to dinner with my brother and his girlfriend. I remember this day like it was yesterday, we were up in Whitehall at Joe’s pizza place and it’s Whitehall’s homecoming weekend. My brother texted me and said, " I have a secret to tell you and you can’t tell dad!" So, I replied with, "Okay, and what is it?" He replied with, "Lexy is going to be having a baby." As the second youngest sibling, I was honored to be the first person to know! She wasn’t very far along so we had no idea if it was going to be a boy or girl! Four months later, he actually called me and said, “Start picking out pink stuff!“ At that very moment, I dropped to my knees and was so overjoyed I actually remember crying!

Every one of my nieces and nephews has made an amazing impact on my life. I am absolutely in love with each and everyone one of them! They are all special in their own ways! Each one of them has a totally different personality! My nieces definitely act just like me with the attitude and being so outgoing but I wouldn’t trade it for anything! My nephews, on the other hand, are total opposites of the girls. I enjoy spending time with everyone of them, they really know how to brighten your mood! I am so blessed to have such a huge family and it’s amazing!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
