The Intense Process We Endure To Make Memories With Our Best Friends

It's a Friday night, you are more than excited to spend a night out with the girls.

As the day turns to night, the process begins- you have to get ready.

However, as most of us know, there is much more to it.

The intricate process is what I refer to as the stages of getting ready to go out, and each step is essential to having a fun night.

Whether you hope to reach the Kardashian phase where you end up with a solid picture to Instagram, or perhaps to dance until your legs hurt the next day phase, preparation is imperative to a successful night.

My process to having a fun night out begins like this...

1. Correlating a Plan

Typically we begin with; "what are the plans?" or "when do I need to be ready?", followed by a way of excitement as the day progresses. This may entail creating a great playlist for the night, or even brainstorming what to bring, but in either case- the group chat begins to create some itinerary for the night.

2. Initiation

This is the phase where you dive right in. I also refer to it as the calm before the storm, because the level of stress is significantly low at this phase in the night, all you gotta do is start.

3. Finding the Perfect Outfit

This is where the stress starts to kick in- what do I wear?! The outfit determines a substantial amount of things for your night out, and you have to make sure it's perfect. This, for me, normally begins by scavenging through friend's clothes, or attempting to break in the heels, although I know I will regret it tomorrow.

5. The Preparation State

This is normally the time where Snapchat comes out. This is the period that involves taking pictures before leaving to head out.

6. The Pregame

This is where you meet up with the group for that night. You are feeling the vibe, the music comes on, and it's time to get hype.

7. Show Time

...This one speaks for itself.

In any case, the preparation needed to go out is well worth it in the end. Whether you follow this route, or embark on a different mental journey when it's time to go out, embrace it! More or less this may be an ode to my girlfriends, thank you for forcing me into my heels, and out to make great memories while having a hell of a time!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
